PROJECTS and PRAYERS

GoCorps

This summer I spent 2 days at Azusa Pacific University with GoCorps leadership to prepare for the 2014-15 recruitment plans.  GoCorps invites soon-to-be college graduates to sign up for two years of service overseas in a wide variety of options.  An additional benefit for the college graduates serving with GoCorps is that they earn an additional $5000 to help with their school loans. TeachBeyond works through GoCorps in the Education wing of their ministry opportunities.  We have FOUR GoCorps locations where these college graduates may serve - North Africa, Middle East, and two Asian countries.

GoCorps has just approved their 2015 opportunities and we should soon be receiving responses from interested parties.  Please pray for applications from candidates who are seriously looking to make an impact in these countries.  Enrollment is open NOW!  We are aiming for 16 positions to be filled.  Please pray for a good response from those students investigating GoCorps opportunities.

William Jessup Update

On November 6th I will be on campus at William Jessup University (WJU) in Rocklin, CA.  Over the past few years WJU has connected well with TeachBeyond.  One recent WJU graduate is presently serving full-time in Vietnam and four of their students have worked at the summer English Camp outreach programs in Kandern, Germany, in the last two years.  I am coaching another student who plans to serve full-time at BFA, and hopefully next summer 8 WJU students will be teaching English at a seminary in Moldova.

It has been rewarding to see how God has opened up doors to the students and faculty at William Jessup.  Please be praying for the meeting I will have with the students on November 6th.

Pray for Cyd

Thank you for keeping Cyd in your prayers as well.  She has had a couple of opportunities recently to reconnect with the Third Culture Kid world.  Through SHARE, she is involved in helping overseas students apply for colleges here, last week critiquing an essay by an MK living in Spain.  Next week (10/14), she will be speaking with GEM missionary candidates about educating children overseas. Again, thanks for your prayers.
